These run big and make me look wide. I had the same issue with the pull-on drawstring jeans and satin cargo pants (same fabric as this ). They fit perfectly when I sized down. They were still plenty loose and comfortable, but much more proportionate. The pockets add stiffness to the sides of the skirt, which increases the boxy look. This was the first time buying pull-on styles. Note to self to size down.
