The dimensions and fit is subpar.

Just got 2 of these sweaters in the mail. The dimensions and fit are subpar. Makes me wonder if human males were even used in designing these. The sleeves are fine, however the torso cut is wiiide. With your arms down it's fine but as soon as you lift your arms up, it's like you have wings on your s...

One wash on a cold gentle cycle, laid flat to dry… and the shoulder is destroyed, stitching completely came apart and it's irreparable. No other abuse to this sweater… I only got to wear this sweater once, and now it's trash.

Comments about Merino Wool Textured Striped Sweater

In the 1955 film, To Catch A Thief, the great Cary Grant wore a dark blue pin striped sweater over a pair of blue light weight trousers. It became iconic. After having watched the film over a dozen times I decided to give the look a try. Banana Republic had the sweater! I ordered it, it fit perfectly; ironically the BR blue glen plaid tapered ankle pants which I recently had purchased totally completed the look. Now, I'm ready for the French Riviera.

Love the shirt. It came damaged and even though it was 'all sales final' I was allowed to return it and get a different one

Super comfortable and light. Great quality as expected from Banana Republic without the high price of other similar shirts.

In the classic 1955 film To Catch a Thlef, the great Cary Gran wore with considerable aplomb a blue and white thin striped sweater. It became iconic. After watching the film for the umpteenth time I decided to borrow the classic look. Banana Republic came the closest to replicating it with the merino wool piece. I love the sweater and will be wearing it with my BR slim tapered blue glen plaid pants and a tan loafer. If you see someone scurrying across the rooftop of a luxury hotel, don't worry it will be me.

Arrived damaged, had to return.

It arrived with a finger sized hole in the seam near the label. Had to return it.

The dimensions and fit is subpar.

With your arms down it's fine but as soon as you lift your arms up, it's like you have wings on your side like a flying squirrel. These flying squirrel sweaters are less tailor-fitted than Old Navy sweaters I bought years ago. Noted…
