I am 5'3", 110 pounds (age 40) and purchased a S. I tend to wear XS in non-ribbed tops but S in the rib. It does have a little room but the smaller size would likely feel too tight. Stretchy, soft and does not feel constricting. Someone of my size who likes tighter fit could probably be fine with the XS. It is long enough to tuck into pants.
