I picked up the Banana Republic Factory ribbed t‑shirt in both white and navy, and they've turned out to be exactly the kind of basics I reach for all the time. The fabric has that perfect in‑between weight—light enough for warmer days but substantial enough for transition seasons and layering witho...ut feeling bulky. I'm petite (5'1", 94 lbs) and ordered an XS, and the fit is spot on. It isn't tight or clingy, but it also doesn't hang awkwardly the way some basics do on a smaller frame. It sits just right and feels comfortable all day. The ribbing gives it a little structure, which helps it look more polished than a standard tee. Overall, it's just a great, reliable shirt. Simple, comfortable, and easy to wear with anything. I can't say enough good things about it. Came back to order more.
This basic but high-quality ribbed tee used to be a staple in my professional wardrobe--versatile and layerable, perfect for transitional weather and crazy office thermostats. I have it in several colors. But BR apparently decided to shrink it. Dramatically. I just bought it in Small and it is three... full inches shorter than the XS I purchased two years ago. WHY??? I don't want to show my belly when I'm running errands or going out for lunch, much less when I'm at work! Women just want to feel comfortable and look polished. Why is that too much to ask for?!

I love this t-shirt and just ordered more in other colors. I don't like to tuck shirts in, so I'm always looking for shirts that are shorter than my hips but not a crop top. For me, this hits just right to wear with pants that sit at my belly button. I'm only 5'4" but have a long torso. However, this might get into crop top territory for someone taller. I weigh 134 pounds and am a 36C. I ordered the large since this is fitted. A medium would definitely have been too small. My unexpected pleasant surprise is that the shoulders are perfect. Often, the shoulders are too wide on a large, which is why I ordered it in four more colors.
