Not exactly sure why I got a small. Take size 26/27 in jeans but waist was enormous (like an xl) Took in (made two pleats in front with sewing machine) about 2-3 inches at the waist and then looked good. Because back is elastic, still could slip on over my hips. Reminds me of a pair I had in the 80s.... Very comfortable and flattering for something that is relatively baggy, but I'm guessing I should have gotten XXS. Good if you have an ample derrière Have not laundered yet
I don't care for the appearance of high waisted anything on myself. Probably due to my short frame and large chest. The fabric was decent, a little scratchy and lighter color slightly see through. Must be ironed otherwise looks a mess. Got a medium.

Do want to share that in banana republic if you're typically a small, then you're probably a XS. Make sure you check the reviews as well for sizing. I'm an XS and I'm 5'2 and weigh 120lbs. These shorts are so comfortable and I got them in a few different colors. They're very respectable and classy. Long enough and so breathable for hot weather. Easy to dress up as well. Love them so much. #sweepstakes

I ordered these in the pink and linen stripe. The pink are SO cute. The linen look a little off and I am not sure if that is due to the pattern or not. The material is wonderful - thin but not see through. These are a great way to elevate an outfit.
