The fabric, style and fit are EXCEPTIONAL!! I purchased the black and navy sweaters, and the colors are luxurious. Don't miss out'
This sweater has changed from just a couple years ago and does not look as high end but more like a common sweat shirt now. These use to have a rope looking diagonal stitch from the armpit, across the chest up to the shoulder (neck collar) and they looked so much more sophisticated (and sweater lik...e) than this new stitch! They also fit better as these new ones have some weird long or deep fabric under the armpit that makes you look like a flying squirrel if you lift your arms. I understand the glowing reviews, because the fabric is still wonderful and the fit pretty good besides the flying squirrel thing. See my attached photos of the old design compared to this new update. You will see in comparison, how much nicer and sophisticated the old design looks in comparison. Even the sleeve/wrist stitch now looks generic now. SMH I'll never understand why these companies ruin a perfect product? It has to be to save a nickel! Well I will not being buying anymore of these, unless the design changes back so what did they really save? I suppose addition by subtraction! I'm submitting this review in the hopes that someone at BR is LISTENING, since they seem to be a company that actually considers what their customers think.

This is a nice, versatile piece that can be dressed up or down in mild weather. Banana Republic's merino sweaters are great quality and typically last me for many seasons, with minimal pilling. I wanted a lighter color than my usual black/navy/crimson palette, and the shade of blue on this was perfact.
