So this is meant to be a roomy mini-dress, and I heavily stress the mini aspect of it! I love, love, love the pattern and color of the navy floral (it's the same pattern as the green and white floral tie-waist dress). The dress is very short - my rule of thumb is that if I wear a mini dress, it shou...ld cover my bum when I raise my arms above my head. This does NOT cover my rump! However, a perk for the design, the dress has about a 4" self-hem. The stitching on the hem is about 4" from the bottom of the dress, so, it can easily be let down and has the fabric to add a few inches. I really love the almost cotton percale crisp fabric, and it has pockets!! The long sleeves can easily be unbuttoned and turned up (cheaper elastic sleeves are less than ideal, so I appreciate BR's use of a banded sleeve and button). I tend to hide from the sun, so this little gem will be perfect for a grab-and-go early summer or cool summer option. It does have a low slash neckline, but this could be stitched up a bit or simply tied for less exposure.
I purchased this dress in the green. It is a beautiful color and photographed well. I am 5'4" and this dress is too short for me. It fits me well, size S, but the length is off. I realize it is a mini, in the picture the dress passes the model's fingertips. It did not pass the fingertip test. I gues...s I will wear it around the house.
